100 Days to Offload - Inception

It's that time in the year again - raw enthusiasm, new beginnings. In the same vein, I've decided to take on the 100 Days to Offload challenge. It's a definite challenge, won't be a cakewalk. But it's highly needed and timely, personally. This post marks a public commitment to the same, and I aspire to keep it as a means of accountability to the undertaking!

What

100 Days to Offload is a challenge bloggers from around the world take, to produce 100 posts in the span of 365 days. There are neither any constraints to the topic, nor impositions of arbitrary quality standards. The only encouragement is to write something - anything.

Why

I've always enjoyed writing. This blog exists for the same reason. Alas, not only was its establishment a long-due; actively pushing content into it has been a wish defying me for months too. As is a common trend with my endeavors and interests - my high perfectionism and self-criticality has been a major blocker. The demands I have off my quality of writing, depth and quality of research, and fixations on the smallest of details - practically paralyze me. Not to forget how I get distracted by tangential details; like the design choices of this webspace, or other functionalities! The challenge to me is a very battle against that tendency. With this streak, I intend to not only get into a groove of putting my thoughts out in the public, but also to confront my all-or-nothing proclivity.

What I expect to do

There have been plenty of topics I have been wanting to write on. As I initiate on this quest, I will attempt to unshackle myself from all the unrealistic expectations I have off my writing. In the process, I'll be working on both in-depth content, and shorter; more casual writings. The topics would likely be very diverse (given my ever-changing fascinations), but I'm not putting any hard requirements. For things I won't directly be ready to push on my blog, but do intend to talk out about - I'll be maintaining my public digital garden around. That way, I shall ensure more of what I wanna say, out there.

And so...

Stay tuned for an array of posts incoming! You may follow my journey by subscribing to my rss feed, or following me on twitter or mastodon. And do consider trying out the challenge too! You may find any information you need on https://100daystooffload.com/.
